Kelly Ellsberry started Mobile Medical Services 3.5 years ago and is now opening a second business with a loan from Kiva Tucson, the Berry Best Phlebotomy Training Academy. She has 14 years of experience in hospitals, labs, and mobile labs, and is a nationally certified, experienced technician and trainer.
Her Mobile Medical Services customers are health care organizations that serve elderly and disabled people unable to easily leave home, as well as others who need the convenience (Kelly goes to offices too). She hopes the phlebotomy academy will attract people who care about patients. Kelly thinks students who want a higher paying job while they go to school could benefit, as could displaced older workers who need a new line of work.
Kiva Tucson is a program of Growth Partners Arizona in partnership with Community Investment Corporation, with funding from the City of Tucson.
