GPAz Executive Director Lesli Pintor to Retire

The Board of Directors of Growth Partners Arizona (GPAz) has announced that Lesli Pintor will retire from her role as Executive Director effective June 30, 2022.

Lesli joined GPAz three years ago, and in that time, the organization has grown 260% to $3.6 million in total assets. The loan portfolio has grown to $1.1 million with 18 borrowers, and the organization is on strong financial footing. When Lesli joined as Executive Director, she was the first and only staff member. Today, the organization has three full-time staff and a part-time administrative and loan coordinator. Additionally, the original target market narrowly served nonprofit organizations in Tucson and southern Arizona three years ago. Today, GPAz serves the entire state of Arizona, providing nonprofits and underserved small businesses with loans and financial coaching. Plus, GPAz has become a Kiva US Hub, supporting southern Arizona small businesses and nonprofits with earned revenue with global crowdfunding microloans at 0% interest.

“I am grateful and honored to have served as Executive Director of this wonderful organization. Thank you to our community, investors, donors, and borrowers for working with us and being part of our mission. And thank you to our staff and Board of Directors for working so hard to make our efforts possible. We have grown the organization significantly over the past few years, and there is much more to come! I am confident the Board will recruit a new leader who will continue to spearhead the mission and focus on positively impacting our communities.” shared Lesli.

GPAz is in a very strong position to successfully transition to new leadership. GPAz’s Board of Directors is committed to finding the next leader for the organization, and has begun recruitment efforts to fill the position of Executive Director. This person will advance the organization’s mission to provide accessible, fair, and responsible loans to support Arizona nonprofits and small businesses.

Evelyn Casuga, GPAz Board Chair, shared “We’ve built a solid infrastructure and expanded partnerships across the state to further GPAz’s mission, including being a supporting organization of the Business Development Finance Corporation. The board is thankful for Lesli’s leadership throughout her tenure and for the tremendous growth GPAz has experienced. We feel confident the organization is poised to enable the next leader to take the organization to an even higher level.”

The Board of Directors remains committed to GPAz mission and the core values of respect, innovation, partnership, experience, trust and relationships. A committee has been created to spearhead recruitment efforts for the next Executive Director. Community members, partners, and investors are invited to recommend potential candidates to the committee by emailing [email protected].
