The City of Tucson is inviting businesses, governments and non-profits to attend informational sessions to learn more about the Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund

The City of Tucson Department of Environmental & General Services has selected Growth Partners Arizona to manage the loan and sub-grant processing and servicing of a federal U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund. This fund will support economic development in Tucson communities that have experienced historic disinvestment. Under the leadership of Mayor Regina Romero, the City of Tucson was awarded a $1 million Brownfields Grant in 2022 to finance site cleanup where there is a confirmed presence of contamination.

“I am grateful to the Biden Administration and our Congressional delegation for helping our communities and businesses stay healthy and thrive,” said Tucson Mayor Regina Romero. “These resources are helping us speed up our efforts to address environmental justice in places like La Doce, the Thrive in the 05, Barrio Centro/Julia Keen Neighborhood, Downtown Tucson and our historic barrios–communities where the City of Tucson is making layered investments and creating transformative change,” added the Mayor.

Since 1997, Environmental & General Services has received over $2.9 million in EPA Brownfields grant funding to complete assessments and cleanup of Brownfields sites.

“It’s humbling to nurture the growth of communities in the very place Growth Partners Arizona first laid its roots. This opportunity to contribute so significantly where our story began is a profound honor and a testament to our collective commitment,” said Andre T. Whittington, Executive Director of Growth Partners Arizona.

The City of Tucson is inviting those who are interested to attend one of two virtual informational seminars to learn more about the Brownfields Revolving Loan fund and the application process. The sessions are taking place on Tuesday, May 14 or Wednesday and May 29 at 10 a.m.
